Alexandra was born and raised in John’s Creek, Georgia. While studying biology and Spanish during her undergraduate career at Georgia College & State University, she found a passion for research investigating the role of regulatory mRNA structures in translation initiation. She quickly gained aspirations to become an independent scientist in the structural biology and biochemistry fields, leading her to enter the BCDB graduate program at Emory in August 2024. Alexandra officially joined the Bou-Nader lab in March 2025 and is excited to pursue her research interests while widening her skills and exploring different career paths. In her free time, Alexandra loves finding new music, spending time outdoors soaking in the sun, and crocheting little animals for her friends and family.
