My mentoring philosophy is that students and postdocs are treated as colleagues and allies to promote well-being, confidence, and stimulating scientific discussions.

We strive to build a positive work environment where everyone can be their true self to tackle challenging and important scientific questions. Mentorship is critical to foster scientific growth and to support all lab members in their career development. As such, we value transparency and engage in open communication to share perspectives and constructive feedback. My role as a mentor is to ensure your growth as a critical and independent thinker while also training you in technical skills and encouraging you to take ownership of your work. Curiosity, rigor, integrity, and openness to feedback are important traits for our team members. By sharing advice, experiences, perspectives and by promoting independence, I hope to empower all lab members to be confident and prepared to tackle any endeavor or challenge that comes next in their careers to help shape society and science.
