Hanh was born in Vietnam. She lived in Texas for 10 years, where she earned both her bachelor’s and PhD degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Arlington. During her graduate studies, she worked in Biochemistry, focusing on molecular biology, protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, protein engineering, and cell culture techniques.

After completing her PhD in 2021, Hanh moved to San Francisco to join a biotech company. She was part of the automation group where she developed high-throughput workflows supporting antibody screening, antibody production and characterization, biomolecular interaction studies, and assay development.

Hanh relocated to Georgia in August 2024 and became a member of the Bou-Nader Lab in November 2025. This position not only enables her to apply her skills in protein biochemistry to support the team but also offers opportunities to strengthen her knowledge in RNA research and advanced structure determination techniques such as cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography.

Outside of the lab, Hanh enjoys spending time with her baby Andrew, creating amigurumi crochet, and watching K-dramas.
