Duc is a first-generation undergraduate student at Emory University, double majoring in chemistry and biology. He was born in Vietnam and lived there before immigrating to the state of Georgia at the age of 6. As a cancer survivor, he proves to be resilient and perseverant. Whether through scientific research or healthcare, his experiences drive him to leverage his skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on the world. In general, he’s interested in biological research, especially in the fields of microbiology, oncology, pathology, and cell biology, as well as chemistry research. In the future, he intends to pursue a pathway toward becoming a pathologist, pharmacologist, or obtaining a PhD in chemistry or biology. His research aims to explore the hidden secrets of R-loops and their connection to human health. Outside of the lab, Duc enjoys dedicating his time to hanging out with his friends, watching television shows, playing games, and playing badminton.
